8th Grade Science

Welcome to the challenging, but exciting realm of 8th grade science where we explore the processes that make up our world. This year, we take a closer look at how physics, energy transfer, electromagnetic forces, chemistry, and human health all come together to create the world we live in.

How do I succeed in this class?

Specific details for success can be found in our class syllabus:

What did we do in class today?

Daily agenda, homework, notes, and online assignments will be posted on our Google Classroom page

What if I am absent?

YOU are responsible for checking our Google Classroom page to see what you missed. Worksheets posted on Google Classroom CAN be submitted after the due date for full credit. Labs, projects, and videos CANNOT due to the materials and set up involved. If you missed a lab/project/video, complete the Absent Lab assignment to receive full credit for the missed activity:

Parent/Guardian Help & Support

The following are ways you can support your student in their final year of middle school and assure they participate in end-of-the-year 8th grade activities and promotion:

  1. Review requirements for promotion with your student
  2. Advise them to habitually write in their agenda EVERY DAY
  3. Remind them to check their assignments and project due dates on Google Classroom
  4. Encourage them to check Panther Portal to monitor their progress in class
