GREETINGS 6TH GRADE SCIENTISTS

Welcome to the exciting world of middle school science! This year, we take a closer look at our Earth as we complete hands-on activities that teach us how astronomy, weather, plate tectonics, and Earth’s resources all come together to create the world we live in.

How do I succeed in this class?

Specific details for success can be found in our class syllabus

What did we do in class today?
Daily agenda, homework, notes, and online assignments will be posted on our Google Classroom page

Parent/Guardian Help & Support

The following are ways you can support your student in their first year of middle school:

  • Monitor their agendas and make sure they are writing homework and important reminders from their classes EVERY DAY.
  • Our Google Classroom page is updated DAILY, so remind them to check assignments, upcoming tests, and project due dates there. Students who do not have access to a computer at home can check out a Chromebook from our school librarian.
  • Encourage them to check Panther Portal to monitor their grades.
TIP:  Many times, missing assignments on Panther Portal are the result of forgetting to put a name, so remind them to check the “No Name” basket before asking the teacher when an assignment is missing!
