Preparing for a New School Year: Curbside Registration 7/28-7/31

July 23, 2020

Dear South Pointe Families:

Our 2020-2021 school year is about to begin. As our Superintendent Dr. Taylor recently shared, we will be starting with Distance Learning.  Although this is not how we hoped to begin our school year, we all understand the importance of the health and safety of our students and staff.  We know this is only temporary and want to be sure we are ready for the school year.   In order to ensure this, we need to distribute a number of essential items during our curb-side registration including textbooks, materials, Chromebooks (if needed), student IDs, and other important items.

As previously shared, this year, our registration will be a two-phase process.  Our first phase is Online Registration-Data Confirmation. Thanks to many of you who have already completed this phase. You are now ready for Phase II!   (Please see the end of this email for Phase I details if you have not completed Phase I.)

Registration Phase II

  •     ONE family member may accompany the student when they leave their vehicle. Please wait to be directed to leave your car and follow the CDC protocols including wearing a mask and social distancing. If you cannot attend on the assigned day, please contact our office so we can make other arrangements:
  •      Payments may be made with checks and cards. Due to sanitization, no cash.

Registration Phase I

Online Registration-Data Confirmation is NOW Open

Data Confirmation includes all needed documents to begin the 2020-2021 school year. Families are required to complete this information annually, as it contains important medical, legal, and emergency information.

Step 1: Log in to Aeries Parent Portal.  All registration paperwork will be processed through Aeries Parent Portal accounts this year.  Click here for quick access to Aeries. Parents must review and complete our registration documents for each of their students through their Parent Portal account.   Please click here to watch the video.

For incoming 6th grade students: if you used Parent Portal at your elementary school, your login information is unchanged. If you do not yet have a Parent Portal account, a login was emailed to you. Please refer back to your email for this information or contact our office for assistance.

Step 2: Data Confirmation: Please complete the confirmation process on or before your Phase II: Curbside Registration date.  To begin the process, log in to your Parent Portal account and click the  yellow bar stating, "You have not completed the Student Data Confirmation Process; Click here to confirm the information about your student." Click the link to begin the process. Please read all instructions and information on each page carefully. To proceed to the next section, click the confirmation button on the left side near the bottom.

Step 3: Print and Return Final Data Confirmation Page at Phase II:  Once complete, please print the required “Signature Validation” page(s) and bring them with you to Phase II. Please plan on having both the student and a legal guardian attend Phase II registration.   If you were unable to register online, we will have computers available to complete the process.

Panther Camp-6th Grade and New Student Virtual Orientation

We can hardly wait to meet our new students and their families.  Unfortunately, it will not be in person, but we have created a Live Virtual Orientation we would like to share with our new families (both parents and students) on Monday, July 27th from 8:30 AM to 10 AM.  So, if you are a 6th grader, or new to South Pointe, please join us and meet our teachers, SSRA, and South Pointe staff.  There will be a brief Q & A at the conclusion of the meeting.  Access information will be sent on Friday, July 24th.  Please check your email!  New student campus tours will be conducted when we return to campus.

An Evening with the Principal
