HW1 – Journal Report

  •    1) We are writing a Journal Report on the 5 weeks break you had staying home due to the pandemic. This pandemic experience is definitely going to be one that you will remember for a long time because it is not likely to happen again - the last pandemic was about a hundred years ago. So make this report special. How to do it? This is an XP assignment, so to get the points........
  •     a) Make sure you take some authentic pictures - include at least one person, and some thing/activities around the house ( look at my sample)
  •     b) Do not use more than 2 difficult/new characters in each sentence / do not use Google Translate to translate entire sentences. Make your writing simple and clear 
  •  
  •    2) Task: Find/take 4 pictures that show the activities that happened during these 5 weeks. You may replace any one pictures by 2,3,or 4 pictures – these multiple pictures are called a set of pictures (see sample given on Apr 23 Meeting Discussion Notes) - You may choose either Single Theme (4 pictures 1 story) or Multiple themes (4 pictures 4 separate stories)  writing format.

  •    3) Task: Describe your activities by typing a minimum of 150 characters for all these pictures – that means you need about 35+ characters per picture (or per set of pictures), or about 2 -3 sentences per picture.

a) Use Microsoft Explorer, or FireFox to launch site. Google may not work
b) Make sure you click "OFF" - Show Character, Show pinyin on top right corner
c) Click on the red color speaker in the middle of website, listen to pinyin, then type pinyin with tones in number format
d) You get an "A" grade if you get more than 50 correct, ie get 51 correct

1)      Read the following to understand how learning as a class will be like going forward

2)      Conferencing – “class time” is as follows:

a- Tuesday & Thursday ( 5 more min may be added to each class time )
